Link to my Workouts

12/29

Alright, again, about the last week the diet has looked pretty bad... I'm straightening out though. My schedule/routine has been completely blown up by this storm we had this last weekend and the city still hasn't gotten it all fixed yet.. Today was much more normal, trains were fine and I was at work on time! Last night got in a really good chest workout, have an off night tonight so I plan on resting up..

6:30am: Shake

9:00am: Subway BMT (Needed the extra calories)

12:00pm: Turkey, lettuce, tomato, honey mustard on whole wheat

12/28

Wow, not sure what to say about today so far... Left for work at 6:45am and didn't get here until 12:00pm!!!! WHAT?!?! It's supposed to take me 45 minutes!!!! This blizzard just ruined everything.. Quick breakdown on the events:

7:00am: LIRR train from Syosset to Hicksville (PACKED!) then stopped at Carle Place to pick up more, then to Mineola where all hell broke loose. I'm talking about grown ass adults pushing and shoving each other into the train, yelling and throwing temper tantrums. Anyone who knows me knows I can't handle that shit, let alone handling it while my ribs are being broken. So I get off at Mineola, say what's up to NJ Burkett and wait for the next train.

8:00am: Next train comes into Mineola. PACKED. No one can get on.

8:30am: Next scheduled train. 35 minutes late.

9:15am: Train, packed. Same old. Can't get on.

10:00am: Go back to Syosset, get the beast Wrangler, driving in.

10:30am: Sitting at Jamaica Ave in East New York, 15 minutes from work on a normal day. Not on the Apocalypse, though. No exaggerating here, this was hell on earth. CARS, TRUCKS, BUSES abandoned in the middle of pretty much every road. NOTHING WAS PLOWED! Cars that were left in the middle of Pitkin Ave. in Brownsville - don't bother coming to dig them out. They were destroyed and set on fire. Seriously.

12:00pm: Get to work. So what should have been a 15 minute drive from that spot, took an hour and a half. 4 and a half hours late for work. Sick.

Weekend Recap

Happy Birthday to my Grandma who turns 80 today..

No idea what I consumed this weekend.. Had a real good lift Friday morning on Christmas Eve, Thursday was a half day at work, also a big squat night at the gym. The nights this weekend were pretty much filled with beers - no shots were taken and no real garbage food was consumed.. Yesterday since the Giants looked like pure garbage, that's what I ate like. But it was worth it, mom made chicken parm, had Dustin and Craig over so we just killed it. So good.

Storm of the century came through and dumped about 93 feet of snow in the metropolitan area. The LIRR suspended all trains so I had to drive the beast Jeep in. Thing killed it, I was here in 45 minutes. Saw one guy fly past me on the LIE and once he got about 1/4 mile up in front of me he spun out and I started laughing. He came about a foot from getting smashed up by the car behind him which would've been perfect.

Got off the BQE and turned onto Flatbush, could see my building and all of a sudden came to a dead stop.. SUV 3 cars ahead of me runs out of gas. Like come on, we serious? How can you be that unprepared? Once he moved, 15 minutes later, cop car in front of me gets stuck. An FDNY Fire Marshall came out so I pulled over and tried to help out, we pushed all we could but the guy buried it so they called a tow truck and I bizounced to work.

Minus those couple of road bumps it wasn't all that bad getting to work. The roads were pretty terrible though, considering the bulk of the snow came yesterday and last night, you'd think the plows would've done some sort of work for the morning commute, but nope.

I acknowledge the last couple days haven't exactly been strictly healthy, so what? Who's reading this anyway? I can go to McDonalds for 2 straight weeks and no one would know about it. So go fuck yourself.

Weekend Recap

Complete show. Didn't want to do anything, so what do you think happened? Out until about 4am Friday night. Had the office holiday party then went out with some of the guys from work to try and get to know them then met up with Jimmy and Max for Max's birthday. Slept on Jimmy's couch until 9am and went home. Took a nap and sat on my ass all day. Wanted to get a lot done, ended up only getting my haircut. Gross disappointment with my productivity level Saturday. Was going to a Christmas party Saturday night that I thought was around the corner from my house until about 13 minutes before I left for it. Turns out it was in the most inaccessible area of all time according to the LIRR which would take an hour and a half with two (TWO!) transfers to get to Bayside. Driving it took us less than a half hour. I don't know. Stayed at this party with Craig for a couple hours before taking the train into the city. Didn't spend much but was out for a while, another late night on a couch slept from about 5am-8am. Solid night of sleep. Upon waking, Craig picked me up from the train around 11, we went to Chipotle (Had to add this because this was probably the highlight of my weekend).

I got home, showered and got dressed in ultimate fan gear for my favorite team ever for what was easily the biggest most important game of the season and in my opinion, recent memory. Me Coop and Craig went to Millers to be around more fans so when we drop a 31-10 lead on the Eagles we can go batshit crazy and claim the NFC East crown! So that's exactly what we did. Only none of us got the memo that an NFL team playing for the division title against a hated rival at home with the #2 ranked defense on the planet could possibly give up 28 points in 7 minutes and 30 seconds and tear the living beating heart out of my chest and jump off the top rope and body slam the shit out of it. I'm talking about the Yankees being up 3 games to 0 in the ALCS in 2004 against the Goddamn Red Sox wasn't even close to the amount of anger, helplessness and disappointment I felt last night. When their punt returner (I refuse to acknowledge he exists, just like Matt Dodge did) took his first 2 steps, that was game. The two witnesses at my table knew it was coming when I screamed out DID HE PUNT IT RIGHT AT HIM TELL ME HE DIDN'T KICK IT RIGHT AT HIM!!!! By the time I got that all out, he was about 35 yards down field with no one around him. There was nothing I could do. I'm almost happy I was in a public place, because if I was home watching that by myself I would no longer have a functioning 46" HDTV in my room. It'd just be a giant paperweight. Safe to say the weekend ended absolutely terribly, and on top of that the Jets pull another miracle out of their ass win and all of a sudden Jets fans exist in NY again. It's like they took a convenient 2 week vacation and all came back Sunday night around 8pm right in time for the work week. Perfect. Giants with their worst defeat in their 85 year franchise history, and the Jets and their obnoxious bandwagon fans claiming the Super Bowl title again after two weeks of hanging out in the Bermuda Triangle. Great start to the week and Christmas is officially ruined.

Completely cheated myself tonight, but due to the Giants getting moved to a Monday night, this was bound to happen. Giants dominated, I dominated, that's how it goes.

Weekend Recap

Not thrilled with my weekend. First off, Giants didn't even play - but I guess that gives me something to look forward to tonight. I didn't want to go out, wanted this to be a relaxing weekend. Friday night ended up being a late night at the gym, then ended up having to get up relatively early Saturday to go look at apartments in Brooklyn. After that, ended up stopping in the city to see Dustin who was playing in a beer pong tournament. I had a couple of beers and the only solid food I'd take in all day which were two slices of pizza. Got home to Hicksville, randomly went to Cheesecake Factory to have a couple beers. Went home, changed my shirt and went to Huntington to watch the fights. Craig and I for some nutty reason picked up Four Loko's to experiment what all this craziness is about. Well we'll just say after the 1 that I had, about an hour later is the last thing I remember. I'm pretty sure I completely embarrassed myself, haven't heard all the details, but the couple I did were pretty bad. So that was a failure. I was confined to my bed basically 23 hours on Sunday with a mixture of being sick and having an awful hangover. It's one of those nights that will haunt me for a while, or I'm going to try and sweep it under the rug and forget about it as quickly as possible. Today so far, I've had nothing but half of a Gatorade, so we're off to a good start beeeuuuppppppp.

12/10

FRIDAY BABY! Got to love Friday's.. Took an enjoyable, relaxable night off last night from the gym. Watched some Fast and Furious while laying down all night last night. Still woke up like I slept for 2 hours though, been like that all week it's frustrating. I sat up, looked at the clock.... Just kept saying to myself "It's Friday, tomorrow you're sleeping all morning, get through today and you're good." That did enough to get me up and into the shower, so now Craig is off today I have no one to e-mail and bullshit with while I avoid working, so I might have to do work today, but hey it's Friday.

5:45am: Shake, Cuts

8:15am: 1 oz. almonds

12:00pm: RTD Muscle Milk

1:00pm: Grilled Chicken, lettuce, tomato and honey mustard on whole wheat

4:00pm: 2 hard boiled eggs

Don't remember what else I had the rest of the day. I went home, got ready for the gym, did that - Didn't even have a shake when I got home. Showered and went to bed.

8:00pm: 1 cup chili

10:00pm: Bed!

Wasn't the end of the day I was looking for in terms of eating, but it was a much needed night off from the gym and I got to bed relatively early, trying to kick this sickness thing. Ended the day around 1600 calories.

Wednesday, December 8, 2010

12/08

Starting to count calories.. I hate it but with some apps and online things it's pretty easy.. Going to try and keep it around 1800 a day. It's cutting a lot, but I want to really increase the weight loss over the next 3-4 weeks to see what happens and how my body reacts.

5:45am: Shake, Cuts

9:15am: Egg whites, hot sauce on whole wheat (lost the turkey and cheese off the regular sandwich)

11:45pm: Subway (half sandwich) Oven Roasted Chicken (lettuce, peppers, pickles, fat-free honey mustard)

12/7

Was at The Learning Center all day for an 8 hour class. Long day but was able to log everything I ate in my notebook. Today was the first day I felt like I had a clear understanding of what I wanted to eat and when. I was able to time things nicely and was able to keep my calories low. I have a feeling it's going to get a lot easier a month in now - I've got a much better idea of what I want to accomplish and how to get there. Each meal has to have a meaning, and my cardio has got to increase. Was able to run after my lift tonight so today has been a very productive day, one of the better ones so far..

5:30am: Shake, Cuts

7:00am: 4 Egg whites

8:00am: Cup of oatmeal, 1 1/2 Splenda

8:30am: Sugar Free Red Bull (16oz.)

10:30am: Protein bar

11:45am: Turkey on whole wheat (lettuce, tomato, peppers, honey mustard)

2:00pm: Sugar Free Red Bull (12oz.) (It was a long day, okay?)

5:00pm: MRP Shake (1 cup skim milk, 1 scoop whey, 1/2 cup oats, ice and water - blended)

GYM

9:30pm: PWO Shake
10:30pm: 1/2 cup cottage cheese
Ended the day around 1,750 calories, with exercise netted about 1,250.

Monday, December 6, 2010

12/6

5:30am: Shake, Cuts

6:15am: MRP Shake (Whey, oats, peanut butter, skim milk, glutamine, ice - blended)

6:20am: Got ready for work.

6:30am: Walked out the door.

6:45am: Train platform - "Oh shit. Forgot my phone. Damn."

7:45am: Walking to desk - "Oh, okay. No watch either today? Nice job so far."

I've only been at work for a half hour, and not having my phone is killing me. Everytime I think about grabbing it for something I feel so disappointed in myself for forgetting it. It's really the only thing I consider a necessity at work. I don't know how anyone survived without phones. I was alive and I don't even know what the world was like 10 years ago.

9:15am: Turkey, egg whites, cheese and hot sauce on whole wheat

11:45am: Subway oven roasted chicken, banana peppers, jalapenos, lettuce, pickles, onions, fat free honey mustard - 100% disappointed today from the idiots at Subway. Basically two skinny ass grilled chicken tenders on one side, toppings on the other. It was like half chicken half veggie delight. I had to eat one half like a shitty piece of corn on the cob. Unacceptable. Subway is on a 2 day suspension from my lunch options.

2:15pm: Absolutely hate myself for forgetting my phone..

3:30pm: 2 tbsps. peanut butter

4:15pm: Cuts

Weekend Recap

Decent little weekend. Friday night had a real good night in the gym, came home and had a little food (pasta). Then met up with the only two followers of this blog thing to grab a beer. Place is an absolute shit hole so we stayed for the one beer and went home. Glad we made it an early night. Craig and I hit the gym Saturday morning, and I'm still real sore so tonight will be tough. Helped with some Christmas decorations at home, then went out for me and my dad's birthday dinner. We went to Rare 650 in Syosset, place is legit. Everything about it was great, exceeded expectations. After that it was time for the city to meet up with the guys and some friends from Cortland for a belated birthday night out for Craig and myself. I'm glad I got there late or things could've gotten real ugly. But all in all it was a good night, carried over to the Giants game on Sunday. Dustin and I hit up Hooters and Craig met us there. Crushed some wings and some beers while the Giants straight up crushed the Redskins. Got home took a solid 3 hour nap, don't think I ate anything else just had a lot of water and was able to get to sleep at a normal time. Not feeling any ill effects from the weekend just yet, hopefully it stays that way so I can hit the gym hard tonight.

Month Numero Uno Overview

I'm going to take a second to breakdown my thoughts on the first month of this diet plan. And I'm sure all 3 people who know this blog exists will want to hear about it, right? I haven't noticed a whole lot in what I want, which is to trim down. I'm also lifting a lot more now, therfore I am noticing muscle in my upper body coming in, but not burning fat at the rate I want so far. I know going forward my cardio is going to be intensified (If I walk fast today it'd be intensified since I basically do none), so I know those results will get kickstarted once I get that going.

The whole strict policy on what I'm eating was more to do with my partner and holding ourselves accountable, but since I've basically been doing this alone since day 2 the master list has been more of a guideline to healthy eating options. I think about 90% of what I've taken in over the last month has been nothing but good for me. I haven't gone off track too much, and I've stuck with the once a week cheat fairly consistently. I'm proud of myself that I've actually been able to do what I'm setting out to do, although I'm far from where I want to be. But to get through a month with no major road bumps, including Thanksgiving being involved, is a major step in the right direction for me. It seemed like an intimidating task to do all this, but my will power has held strong and I've been pretty good.

12/3

6:15am: Everything bagel, cream cheese

8:50am: Cuts

9:30am: Turkey, egg whites, cheese and hot sauce on whole wheat.

12:00pm: Mulanes Grill for lunch, got the special - Spicy Chicken Alfredo - BANGIN'!

Side note about the newest goal for my life:

http://nyc.barstoolsports.com/random-thoughts/guess-that-ass-317/#more-37743

Jaime Koeppe - OH. MY. GOD. Have you ever in your life seen anything this perfect? Seriously. If I could create a test tube wife and just pick and choose every aspect of what I wanted in her - this is exactly to the T how she would come out of the matrix liquid. Her with the aprin on just smiling at me as I walk into the kitchen, ass out just telling me she'd be happy to make me anything I wanted for breakfast. I don't even like breakfast, she could dump the kitchen garbage bag on the frying pan and cook it - I'd eat it and tell her it was the best thing I've ever had.

12/2

Finally back on track and trying to stay there as best I can. Had a rough start to the week but re-energized myself with the workout last night.. I knew I absolutely crushed my body, especially my back and legs, so I wanted to get some sort of cardio in today. Even though the windchill was at 25 at 5:15 this morning, I knew I needed to man up and go for a run. Thought since I hadn't run since Thanksgiving morning, and the absolute crap I ate since then, it would be pretty tough. Was not as bad as I thought it'd be, actually was able to pick the pace up pretty good for the last quarter mile, was happy with the turn out. Definitely came real close to copping out around 5:05, but once I started getting dressed I knew I had to stop thinking and just get it done.

5:15am: Cuts, Shock Therapy

6:15am: Shake

8:15am: 1oz. almonds

9:15am: Turkey, egg whites, cheese, hot sauce - whole wheat

12:00pm: Falafel with white sauce, didn't know it came fried - sucks, but whatever that's how I had to have it. Not thrilled, next time I'll just play it safe and get the damn chicken.

3:30pm: Cuts

4:00pm: 3 Hard boiled eggs (no yoke)

Took down just under a gallon of water today at work, my goal is always a little more than a gallon a day. Almost there, usually do about half lately at work. I'm going to start trying to get the full gallon done before I leave here so the rest is just surplus, which is what I want.

....................

...................

9:00pm: Chips and salsa along with margaritas. Yep. That was my food intake the rest of the night up until 11pm. Went home, brushed my teeth and went to sleep. Sweet job.

12/1

Hello December. 60 degrees with 60+mph winds and rain everywhere, felt more like a September hurricane. Craig had people in his office falling over trying to fax shit because the building was literally swaying back and forth. Again, woke up with the intentions of going for a run to make up for an awful Tuesday effort, and hit the snooze twice. Unproductivity continues....

Get to work, have my usual breakfast from the deli - Turkey, egg whites and cheese with hot sauce on whole wheat. Have some crystal light throughout the morning. Had subway for lunch, went with the new pastrami sub with no care about calories at this point thinking I'm pretty much done. Thought I'd just keep my tired level the rest of the day before I started getting real mad at myself to the point I turned my motivation back on.. Decided I was going to absolutely get back on track before I let my usual and predictable downward spiral continue. I threw my gym mix on for the train ride home and made sure I got myself up. Got home, tried not to relax, had my supps and manned up for the gym.

I absolutely murdered the gym - Hitting highs on both of my main lifts for the night - deads (275/5) and bench (225/5)

I doubled up the previous nights workout with the chest workout and just straight did work. Sweat was going, intensity was there throughout, haven't had a workout like that in a long time and earned a real day off for Thursday. Got home, had a shake then some turkey, showered and went to sleep.

11/30

Had to be up early because I had to be in Long Island City at 7am for training at the Learning Center. Had about a quarter of a bagel with cream cheese in the morning with some water. Around 8:30 had an apple and a sugar-free Red Bull. Ran into my cousin there, odds of which are almost 0% but my class was done right when he got out for lunch so we got a couple slices and I headed back to the office around noon. Don't remember eating much after that, went home little earlier than normal - about 3:30. Got home with the intention of going to the gym and didn't. I decided I could double up the work on Wednesday and maybe get a run in early in the morning to make up for my laziness since I hadn't worked out since Saturday.. Was pretty pissed at myself, then decided to eat left-overs to really hammer home the tired/depressed feeling of not going to the gym. Real unproductive day, probably the worst since I started this and almost felt like this was going to derail me for a minute.

11/29

To be honest, if there was a 0-100% gauge on how badly I want to be writing down what I eat today and get back on this diet thing after the long weekend, I'd be at about a -53%.

Ate nothing this morning, drank about 4 glasses of water before I even got in the shower because I wake up with extra dry mouth because the heat is blasting in my house. Really tired today - was at Giants Stadium from 8am to 8pm yesterday and thank GOD they won, or it would have put a damper on the day. Ended up having a great time though. Didn't eat a whole lot while I was there, had a burger around 12 then some chili in the game and that was about it.

So far today....

9:00pm: Bed

So yeah, had to have some cake, can't disrespect my Dad like that. That's what's up.

Weekend Recap

Saturday I only ate once, real smart. Met up with some friends from college and had some beers, stayed out later than I wanted to. I thought I'd be able to get out of there at a decent time, didn't happen. Sunday was nice and relaxing, good cheat day. Had some chicken parm, can't go wrong with that. Back on the grind today, short work week so today I like it being Monday but not feeling like it.

11/19

5:30am: Shake, Cuts

6:30am: 1/2 cup cottage cheese

7:45am: Apple

8:30am: GH Stack

9:15am: Turkey, egg whites, cheese and hot sauce on whole wheat toast.

10:30am: Pak.

12:00pm: Stuffed pepper on top of steamed veggies AKA Stuffed TWU.

WOW. Absolute bangin' lunch. Place we were supposed to go was shut down doing health inspection or something stupid - That's okay right next door we got a legit deli. Usually go safe with a sandwich but you know what? That stuffed green bell pepper is looking mighty serious. It had meat, peas, corn, carrots stuffed inside topped with some cheese and some salsa looking sauce. Stuffed TWU is what I'm calling it. Got the steamed veggies served underneath it, wow. Big winner.

1:30pm: Banana

3:00pm: 2 tbsp. Peanut butter

4:15pm: Banana

5:15pm: Cuts

6:30pm: ST, Nitro

7:30pm: Gym

11/18

5:30am: Shake, Cuts

6:20am: 1/2 cup cottage cheese

6:45am: Apple

8:30am: Universal GH Stack - Grape (First time using this - 2 teaspoons mixed in 8 oz. water)

9:15am: Turkey, Egg whites, cheese and hot sauce on whole wheat toast.

9:30am: Pak.

11:45am: Subway - 6" Buffalo Chicken on whole wheat (lettuce, pickles, banana peppers, shredded cheese, light on southwest sauce).

Knew I made a mistake switching from the oven roasted chicken, but it wasn't that bad. I knew as soon as she put it on the bread I made a mistake and immediately regretted the choice. Opted for higher calories but something that wasn't as good? I don't know. Not all there today apparently.

After lunch I was able to stop at Vitamin Shoppe around the block and pick up 5lbs. of Optimum Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein - Really wanted Chocolate Mint but beggars can't be choosers and I went with Cookies and Cream, not a bad option B. Really didn't have any whey at home and really needed it for the morning and post workout. This should help out a lot.

Sidenote - been really slacking on the water intake last couple days, don't know why. I usually finish my bottles before the end of the day, which is probably about 3 liters worth, but lately I haven't been finishing them. Whatever it is I need to force it down and finish it before it becomes habit.

1:45pm: 2 tbsp. Peanut butter

2:30pm: 3 hard boiled eggs, lightly marinated vegetables.

3:30pm: Banana

4:00pm: Cuts

11/15

Didn't eat anything when I woke up. Set my alarm for 4:45 to try and run before I got ready. Just didn't do it. Reset my alarm for 5:15 and then got up. Not happy, normally if I'm already awake I'll just do what I planned on doing, but couldn't get up. The way I feel about it now, I just wish I did it, so I'm going to force myself tomorrow.

8:15am: Trail mix.

9:15am: Turkey, egg whites, cheese, hot sauce on whole wheat.

Sidenote, I'm exhausted. I felt good this morning, but can barely think I'm so tired right now. Just ordered a new string of supplements though, haven't done that in a while so I'm excited about that. Here's what I got:

Animal Pak, Animal Cuts, Animal Nitro, Universal GH Stak and a couple new shaker bottles.

I plan on using these on top of my diet to help aid in shedding some weight. Going to start with Cuts and GH in the morning right when I wake up. Pak at breakfast time (9:00-9:15am). Cuts and GH again around 2 or 3 o'clock. Nitro pre and post workout. Once I get used to the timing and routine, this stack should produce some pretty good results.

Was going to order some protein, but don't need it right away and the price difference from Vitamin Shoppe wasn't as great as the things I got online so I'll just get that later on.

10:30am: Sugar-free Red Bull.

11:45pm: Tuna with celery, carrots, onion, peppers and hot sauce on whole wheat.

2:30pm: Cuts, Crystal Light.

About to take down a shake, but I'll be honest here. No way in hell do I feel like going home and going to work out. I don't know what it is about today, and at no time did I think 'Oh well it's Monday', that has nothing to do with it. I don't care what day of the week it is, ever. I just feel like crap right now, and it's pissing me off. It'd be nice to know why, if I drank 33 beers yesterday and got 2 hours of sleep - That would make sense. But I woke up at 11, then laid on my ass and watched football all day, then got a solid 6.5 hours of sleep. Whatever this is it better be gone in a couple hours.

3:45pm: Apple.

4:00pm: Shake.

6:30pm: EAA Nitro.
6:45pm: Shock Therapy.
7:15pm: Gym (Drink mix: BCAAs, Glutamine, Storm [Creatine mix], Gatorade mixed in cold water)
8:45pm: EAA Nitro.

10:15pm: Bowl of chili.

Weekend Recap

Tough weekend, Giants got absolutely bent over by the Cowboys - wasn't thrilled with that. Didn't do any exercising this weekend, kind of felt like a lost weekend. I think next weekend will be much more productive since I don't plan on doing much. Trying to get more out of the weekends than just staying out late and sleeping in. I'm going to try and get more done next weekend.

11/12

6:00am: Shake

6:45am: Apple

Slow start to the day in terms of the food, but trying to limit my calories right now. Want to be more aggresive in shedding some weight so I'm losing the early morning breakfast since I already have the shake there. I have a break at work at 9am so I'm going to use that as breakfast time and go from there. Just going off feel from last week, the early morning breakfast I felt was important to kickstart my day, but after a couple days I felt more sluggish than I wanted to. I feel good right now so we'll see how this experiment goes for the next week.

9:15am: Turkey, egg whites, cheese on whole wheat with hot sauce. Crystal light.

12:15pm: Salsalito turkey, lettuce, tomato, mustard on whole wheat. Brocolli and Green beans. Crystal Light.

11/11 Happy Veterans Day

Happy Veterans Day - Great day to give thanks for what you got.

Today is a little different, no set schedule so my eating times are going to be all over the place.. Woke up about 11:00, feels great to sleep in.

Going to go to the gym now to get it done and out of the way.
12:00pm: Cup of chili.
1:00pm: Gym
3:00pm: Grilled chicken and shrimp over pasta.
5:00pm: Shake
8:00pm: Cup chili.
11:00pm: Shake, bed.
Overall wasn't a productive eating day in my mind, but I'm sure it all benefitted me in some way after the gym work.

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

11/10

5:15am: Shake

6:00am: Approx. 4-5 egg whites, 3 whole eggs, shredded cheese, hot sauce

6:45am: Apple

Still feel a little tired, but feel much better than I did at this time yesterday. Off night from the gym tonight so my plan is to definitely rest up and get there during my off day from work tomorrow.

11:30am: Haven't had anything since that apple. Skipped breakfast at 9, but got some things to snack on that I never felt like having. Starting to get hungry now just in time for lunch.

12:00pm: Subway - Over Roasted Chicken, lettuce, pickles, banana peppers, green peppers, jalapeno's and their fat free honey mustard on whole wheat. Legit. Actually much better than I thought it'd be.
And Crystal Light.

2:30pm: 4 hard boiled eggs (minus yoke), little salt and pepper for taste.

4:00pm: Apple, tbsp peanut butter

Off night from the gym so I didn't eat right away when I got home. Had a couple pieces of chopped up steak from in the fridge. Ended up making my own homemade chili last night, had a bowl of that a couple hours before bed. It's legit but only if you like hot food.

Tuesday, November 9, 2010

11/09

5:10am: Leg cramp

5:15am: Alarm goes off

5:25am: Shake

6:00am: 6 Egg whites, shredded cheese, hot sauce

8:00am: Trail mix

Feel like shit so far today. Need a night to rest up, may be tonight depending how I feel later. I need a solid 10 hour sleep night. Looking forward to having Thursday off from work though, that should be legit.

9:30am: 4 hard boiled eggs (minus yolk). Marinated vegetable salad (Cucumbers, Carrots, Onions, Celery, Green peppers)

Stopped at Best Buy before the gym last night to look at headphones. I wanted to check out the "Beats by Dre" headphones everyone is flipping out over. Not going to lie, they sound amazing. It sounds like a home stereo on your head. Even though I'd probably get more use out of these than anything else considering I'd use them everyday on the train, I can't possibly justify dropping $300 on headphones. I was there though, so I did consider it, but just looking at the price I couldn't do it. If I can find some sort of discount on them, though, I'm getting them.

12:00pm: Salsalito turkey, lettuce, tomato and hot sauce on whole wheat. Crystal Light lemonade.

2:40pm: Muscle Milk Light and tbsp. peanut butter

4:15pm: Sugar-free Red Bull (Did nothing for me)

6:00pm: Roasted chicken (minus skin) and mixed vegetables (corn, asparagus, string beans, carrots)

6:45 - 8:15pm - Much needed nap

9:00pm: Gym (no idea how this happened, but doing it when I don't feel like it is important right now)

11:30pm: Shake.

Monday, November 8, 2010

11/08

8:00am: Apple.

9:15am: Turkey, egg whites, cheese and hot sauce on whole wheat.

10:15am: Tbsp. peanut butter

12:00pm: Half Subway Club on Whole Wheat (Turkey, Ham, Roast Beef, peppers [jalapeno, green, banana], sweet onion dressing).

12:30-1:30pm: Snacking on some broccoli and green beans. AKA trying not to pass out forehead first on my keyboard.

2:15pm: Two tbsp. peanut butter

2:45pm: Muscle Milk Light (8.25 oz.)

6:00pm: Other half of Subway Club

8:00pm: Gym

9:30pm: Shake
*Gym time wasn't the greatest. Did some warm-up cardio, worked out then did a mile at a good pace because I felt like the workout sucked. The cardio after the workout definitely hurt me up a little bit - but in a good way. I really have a lot of work to do though.

Weekend Recap

Good weekend, no plans so a lot of random stuff went down. Got Dustin into the city for the first time in 13 years. Had some beers, but held strong on the food. Even late night. Had my day Sunday to eat what I wanted. Watched the Giants absolutely throttle the Seahawks and enjoyed some pizza, little chinese food but was able to drink mostly water. Should have taken more advantage of the extra hour of sleep thing, but maybe I'll do that at work today..

Back on the grind today with the diet and the gym. Planning on going earlier to the gym to run or do some sort of cardio. Had nothing this morning, wasn't feeling like eating or having a shake, should have at least had something so having an apple now.. Breakfast in an hour..

Friday, November 5, 2010

11/05

5:30am: Protein shake.

6:15am: 2 whole eggs/2 egg whites, shredded cheese, hot sauce. Apple (20 minutes later).

9:15am: Turkey, egg whites, slice cheese, hot sauce on whole wheat.

9:30am: Today is Diwali - The Festival of Lights - aka free indian food at the office. Being a rookie at my job I need to make face time at all these 3rd floor get togethers. I took some food, removed the fried shell and had some taste of the inside (Peas, spices, rice and some real good hot sauce) but only about 3-4 bites then threw the rest out. If you consider this falling off the wagon of the diet you're outside of your mind.

10:45am: Tbsp - Peanut butter

12:00pm: 2 hard boiled eggs. Grilled chicken, broccoli, string beans, banana peppers.

Was able to go down to the Vitamin Shoppe on the corner during my lunch break and re-stock on glutamine**. Didn't have a lot left at home, maybe a couple more servings, so I'm pumped I don't have to order just that online. Normally when I have to get supplements I like to order all at once and I get everything from dpsnutrition.com - Prices are real low and shipping is real fast.

2:00pm: 3-4 pieces of beef jerky

2:30pm: 2 tbsp peanut butter

Didn't really eat anything rest of the night. Bad idea and decision, but I at least stayed away from any temptation and fast food which made me feel confident I can stay with this diet.

**Glutamine is found naturally in beef, chicken, fish, eggs, dairy products, and wheat among other things. Evidence indicates that glutamine when taken orally may increase plasma HGH levels by stimulating the anterior pitutitary gland. Studies have also shown its use to aid in anabolic processes which can in turn reduced recovery time.

11/04 Food Entry

I am going to log in what I had throughout the day yesterday since it's still relatively early today. (Times are approximate)

TWU Lock Down Diet 2010

Alright folks, it's time to lock it up. I'm doing a diet challenge with one of my friends, one the likes of which I've never tried before. We made a master list of foods that are acceptable (Including beverages). There is to be no food ingested that is not approved by the master list. By doing this, we ensure we are eating healthy and clean in order to reach our fitness goals. I will be blogging throughout this endeavor to keep my sanity, but more importantly to share the experience - for anyone who might come across this, who knows? It may inspire them to make some changes as well.

Here are a few guildelines we have to follow:

Weigh-ins every 3 weeks.

1 cheat day per week.

"Fines" instituted for any off-scheduled cheats. $50 for first infraction and $25 extra on top for each repeat offense.

And obviously - follow only food/drink on the master list.

I'll be blogging what I eat/drink and my workouts here for the time being. If you want to follow along you're more than welcome. Should be fun..

“Let me tell you something, getting huge doesn't happen by accident. It also doesn't happen overnight. It takes a plan, the right plan. That plan involves a basic formula that will work 100% of the time:

Pt + C/I + F + s = H2

That is, take proper training, combine it with consistency/intensity, and add it to proper food mixed with the right supplements, and you will get large. So stick with the plan. Implement the formula. Reap the rewards.”
